Excavated, cleaned and removed (8) 12,000 gallon solvent tanks. Demolished, excavated and backfilled three former lagoons containing contaminated soil. Transported and disposed of 35,000 gallons of liquid hazardous waste and 1,100 tons of contaminated soil.
Cleaned and performed sampling on 17 chemical process and storage tanks. Tanks contained unknown materials. Performed PCB decontamination on steel platforms utilizing scaffolding and detergent scrubbing. Reduced PCB levels below 100ppm. Characterized, transported and disposed of 69 drums of waste material.
Removed product and cleaned 62 storage tanks containing asphalt and asphalt emulsions at three Northeastern and Central PA facilities. Project necessitated manual removal of hardened asphalt and was completed ahead of schedule in winter months.
Manually removed 2000 gallons of gelled ester material from reactor vessel. Project was completed in 5 working days and allowed production to resume ahead of schedule. Over 1800 pounds of material removed per day.
Cleaned 8 storage tanks containing pesticide residue. Tanks ranged in size from 30,000 to 100,000 gallons. All tanks were cleaned to product change standards, rinse waters sampled and analyzed. Scaffolding was erected in the tank interiors to allow walls and ceilings to be cleaned. Reduced levels of malathion from 2600 ppm to 13 ppm.
